The Director of the Golestan Palace World Heritage Complex announced the start of the project for the protection and restoration of the tiles of the Shams al-Emareh Edifice and said: "Due to the welcome and request of those interested, the stages and work processes of these workshops can be visited by the public while maintaining the defined protective privacy."

According to the public relations of the Golestan Palace World Heritage Complex, Afarin Emami said: this operation includes protecting and restoring the flooring of the interior spaces of the ground floor of Shams al-Emareh, the cleaning of pollution and soot by dry and wet method, strengthening by injection, repairing of fasteners and holders, and strengthening connecting points.

She continued: In addition, balancing and applying glazing on the restored parts and strengthening of surfaces and applying plastering are among other works which are done in Shams al- Emareh building during the protection project.

The director of the Golestan Palace World Heritage Complex said: At the same time as the urgent restoration of the seven-color tiles, restoration of a number of facade frames of the Shams al-Emareh edifice are also on the agenda.

Emami clarified: The urgent protection and restoration operation of this project includes strengthening the tiles that have loose joints, removing the coating layer of the connecting part, replacing the improper and damaged fasteners, strengthening by injection, joining the parts with the PIM method.

The director of the Golestan Palace World Heritage Complex said: At the same time with this project, the factors of damage, which is decreasing humidity, will be investigated and the plan to eliminate theses factor will be implemented.
