The Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage announced: Visiting museums, bases and historical buildings by order of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage is free on "World Museum Day".
According to the public relations report of the deputy of cultural heritage, Ali Darabi, vice minister and deputy of cultural heritage, announced at the meeting of the coordination council of museums that was held in the cultural and historical complex of Niavaran: At the same time as the 18th of May 2023, World Museum Day and the beginning of cultural heritage week, visiting museums and historical monuments by order of this ministry are free.
He added: Currently, we have 800 museums in the country, of which 268 belong to the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts.
Darabi also emphasized on choosing a slogan and preparing a vision document for each museum and said that the said document should be finalized for approval.
Also, with the presence of the deputy of cultural heritage, proposals for the working hours of museums in Nowruz 1403 and its concurrency with the holy month of Ramadan were reviewed.
Among those present at this meeting, Morteza Adeebzadeh, Director General of Museums, Alireza Tabesh, Deputy Advisor of Cultural Heritage, Jibreil Noukandeh, Director of National Museum of Iran, Bijan Moghadam, Director of Niavaran Cultural and Historical Complex, Vahid Rahmati, Director of Saadabad Cultural and Historical Complex, Afarin Emami, Director of Golestan Palace Museum, and Hojat al-Islam Fakhredin Sabri, Director of the Holy Quran Museum can be named.
According to this report, this year's slogan of World Museum Day is "Museums, sustainability and well-being" and based on it, "Cultural heritage, National identity, social vitality" has been chosen as the national message of cultural heritage week.
