“The Lament of the Sun” exhibition has been set up in Golestan Palace with the display
of images from Tofan al-Boka, one of the famous books of the Qajar period, with an
emphasis on the tragedy of Karbala.
According to the Public Relations of the Golestan Palace World Heritage Complex report,
The Lament of the Sun exhibition will be held by exhibiting images from the book Tofan
al-Boka fi Muqatil al-Shohada from the month of Muharram and throughout July until
September 5 in the Marble Throne mansion of this world complex.

It should be noted that the book Tofan al-Boka fi Muqatil al-Shohada is one of the
famous books of the Qajar period, which was written by Mirza Mohammad Ibrahim
Johari in 1250 AH. This book is one of the few books that were printed many times in
the first period of lead type printing with or without illustrations.
The book was written in twelve parts of elegy in verse and prose about the life of
Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Shia imams with an emphasis on the tragedy of
Karbala. The lithographic version of this book is kept in the library of Golestan Palace.
